Class I Malocclusion with a Narrow Upper Jaw This patient had upper crowding combined with a right anterior crossbite and a left posterior crossbite. A crossbite is when the top teeth fit inside the lower teeth. Normally the top teeth fit on the outside of the lower teeth. It is very important to correct a crossbite while the patient is still growing. Correcting a crossbite on non-growing patient may involve a surgical procedure combined with orthodontic treatment. She was treated by expanding her palate with a rapid palate expander and using braces to align the top and bottom teeth. Copyright © 2007 High Cotton Software. All Rights Reserved |
